It’s time to vote.
Are you verified and ready?
To vote for Mark Carney as the next leader of the Liberal Party of Canada you need to verify your identity, then vote. Here’s what to do, and when to do it:
Step 1:
Check your email for a message from “Leadership 2025” where you can find your Voter ID code.
Your Voter ID is required for the next step. If you didn’t receive your Voter ID code by email, you can request it here: https://secure.liberal.ca/get-my-voterid
Step 2:
Confirm your eligibility and verify identity via the Canada Post Identity+ app or in person at a post office:
Complete this step between February 20th and March 7th at 5:00PM EST. Detailed instructions will be emailed to you.
Step 3:
Vote for Mark!
The voting period will begin on February 26 at 8 AM ET, and will close on March 9 at 3 PM ET.
Once you verify your identity, and when the voting period opens, you’ll receive voting instructions by email to cast your ballot electronically at vote.liberal.ca

If you didn't receive an email from Leadership 2025 with your voter ID to begin your verification process, you can request your voter ID by going to https://secure.liberal.ca/get-my-voterid
If you are having technical issues with the verification process through the Canada Post Identity+ app, please contact assistance@liberal.ca
If your identity verification is in review, the Party will be following up with you, but you can still write to assistance@liberal.ca for an update.
If your identity was not verified, please contact assistance@liberal.ca.
You will receive a notice from the Party regarding your verification status by email. Conserve the receipt you received from Canada Post.
Everyone will need to verify their identity and address. You may also need proof of Canadian citizenship, Permanent resident status, or status under the Indian Act.
When verifying your identity be sure the information on your identity documents matches the information shown when confirming your eligibility.
Most voters will cast ballots online. After verification, and if you are eligible to receive a ballot, information will be provided when voting opens. Some will be authorized to vote by phone at the discretion of the Chief Electoral Officer
Registered Liberals who meet the following criteria:
- You are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or has status under the Indian Act
- You ordinarily reside in Canada (primary residence is in Canada 183 days a year)
- You were a Registered Liberal by January 27, 2025 at 5:00PM EST
- You comply with the registration and ID verification procedures
Yes, verification and voting can be done online from anywhere. Start by going to secure.liberal.ca/verify and then choose the Canada Post Identity+ app option for verification. Complete those steps and when voting opens on February 26th, you’ll be able to vote online.
